Exploring MIST Admission Test: Get Ready with Past Questions!
Future MIST candidates, this article is designed to help you understand the admission test by providing previous years’ questions and answers. This resource aims to familiarize you with the types of questions you may encounter during the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) admission process.
Well, MIST does not permit students to take the actual exam questions out of the examination hall. However, we have compiled a collection by asking the students to share the questions they can remember.
The MIST admission test is highly competitive, consisting of 200 marks worth of questions to be completed within three-hour. Candidates are allowed to retake the exam; however, a 10% deduction will be applied to the total score of the second attempt.
MIST admission test 2023-2024 quesitons
We’ve made a concerted effort to gather questions from the MIST Admission Test 2023-2024 directly from students. However, students informed us that this year’s questions were particularly lengthy and challenging to recall.
Despite this, we have managed to collect several questions shared by students. These examples will provide you with a valuable understanding of the types of questions being asked in recent admission tests, helping you better prepare for future exams.
We’ve uploaded the collected questions in a downloadable DOC file below. Additionally, we are continuously updating this file with new questions as we receive them from students.
MIST Admission Test Question Analysis
Language and Answer Sheet:
Questions are presented in both Bangla and English, and students can choose to answer in either language.
Students told us that the answer sheets provide ample space for responses, including the back of each page. This feature allows for note-taking or drafting answers before final submission, ensuring a more organized approach.
Time Management
The test duration is three hours, and with 40 questions, students generally find this timeframe sufficient. Many candidates have told us that they completed their answers up to 30 minutes before the end of the exam, indicating that time management should not be a major concern.
Physics:
We have found that questions in physics often involve 3 to 4 steps and include both theoretical and practical aspects.
Solving circuits and drawing diagrams are common question types. Approximately 20% of the questions are based on BUET’s previous exams. Therefore, solving BUET past questions is highly recommended.
Mathematics:
Mathematics constitutes the largest portion of the exam, with around 90 marks (80 marks in previous years). It covers a wide range of topics.
We have seen that questions from geometrical chapters tend to be longer to solve, while calculus questions are particularly tricky.
A significant portion of maths questions is directly sourced from main textbooks, especially Hazari Nag Sir’s Highermath book. Therefore, familiarizing yourself with these textbooks and solving examples is crucial.
Chemistry:
The chemistry section is on par with the BUET admission standard and does not require an excessive amount of time to solve.
The organic chemistry and the periodic table chapters are very important for MIST admission test. You have to cover almost every topics in these chapters to get a good amount of marks.
English:
The English portion contains a small number of questions, primarily covering basic concepts and chapters from academic syllabi.
